Subject: Bike LT HR translate to run HR zones?
I thought I read around here a few months ago that if you did a LT test on the bike to get your HR zones you could then add so many beats to each zone for running?  I know doing a run test is best, but I'm not that absolute in training, an estimate is close enough for the time being.

It doesn't really work like that.  Estimates for LT can be way off and if you followed it you may not be running hard enough and not getting the right stimulus or running too hard and get injured.  The test is only 10min warm up and 30min all out...sure it's hard but it's not something to skimp on if you will be training by heart rate.

my run LT is 165.  my bike LT is 151-ish.

I do a fair amount of running and I'm not well trained on the bike.

I expect that the difference is different for each person, but on average if your bike LT was 10 beats lower than your Run LT, that'd be close to average.

There is no firm delta, it depends on the individual.  First time I did the tests (years ago) my delta was 12.  Last time I did them it was 6 and I was in way better bike shape.  I know a guy whose delta was 22.

My delta is like 2 at most.  Test for them individually.
