Sure let me see if we can open it back up with a fresh thread. I'll get with the site mods. Hope some of you will rejoin us.

EDIT: Note to add that we have to keep using this thread until they re-open the new ones. Post here what you are doing now, how your season went, what you would've done different, what your next season goals/races are, any updated questions you may have!

I'd like to come back for another year. This year i completed my 1st ironman. Was hoping to go long again next season, but after a chat with my partner at the weekend i will be focusing on 70.3's next year.

This is down to the fact that we will be getting married next july and thought it a bit unfair from both a financial and a time point of view to be doing ironman. So the plan is to get faster and stronger next year ready for 2014.

I'm in for another round, too.  2013 will be focused on trail running and 70.3s.  Trying to resist the IM siren call.

Well I attempted to make it a full season this year, however rookie injury had kept me from training for quite some time. Then rookie mistake #2 with coming back too early. Needless to say I haven't ran all the races I was hoping to! All that being said, I am contemplating running a half towards the end of next month. Overall though my desire to train or race has not diminished despite my short comings!

New thread sounds like a good idea.

To recap, in my first complete Triathlon race I DNF, had a bike crash, and couldn't repair it. It was an olympic distance. I plan to concentrate on oly's and 70.3 for the next season. I am aware it's maybe smarter to finish some sprints before, but that's not me. My ambition is to do 70.3, and prepare accordingly.

Any suggestions for training program (the best you've done, heard of)?

preparing for the ING NYC Marathon in 10 weeks also.

Hi again kids!

Had a huge weekend: 22 mile run on Saturday, 63 mile run on Sunday.  Fast pace on Sunday with lots of climbing.  Was worried, since I'd only been on my bike once (less than 30 miles) since Vineman and it was 100 degrees.  Still just killed it.  Man, it felt good!

I'm also going to strongly suggest that everyone look into metabolic efficiency training.  I follow a paleo way of eating and I can't believe how freaking good I feel.  I'm down 15 pounds since Vineman, my endurance is through the roof and I'm stronger than ever before...also look much better in a bikini.  hahahaha

What's everyone else up to?

Don't know if anyone is still checking this forum but thought I would check in. I have finished my first HIM with many thanks to you all for keeping me motivated. The race for me started awesome, however due to limited calories taken on the bike my run suffered significantly. But, take the good sand learn from the bads! Hope everyone is doing well!

Great job, hoale!!!!

Would love to hear your thoughts on the day.

I did a sprint last weekend and had an absolute blast.  It was fun to go hard and fast.  AND, my mom did it, too.  She's hooked and can't wait to do another.

I have a 50K this weekend.  Not sure what to think about it, but I'm sure it will be interesting.  Other than that, I'm still drinking the CrossFit Kool-aid pretty seriously.  Here's a pic of my new deadlift PR: 175#!

"Like!!!" As far as my race I thought I had prepared well for the nutrition but the day before I was short on appetite so probably didn't eat as much as I should have, lead to inadequacy... Then didn't eat enough on the bike to remedy that. I literally was way ahead on my planned times for each sport, however du to that I think I short changed myself on the run which was a little disappointing. Now I know what I can change and what I can perform at so I look forward to April!

Hi Everyone.

Not much happening here really struggling to get motivated. Only managed a handfull of training sessions since july. Getting into a rut and starting to get down about it. The weight is creeping back on. I entered a 70.3 for next june in the hope that would get my arse into gear but this hasn't happened.

From the high of finishing ironman uk back in july i am now very low.

Nobody here is going to be able to get your arse back in gear, but we are all after you to start punching the clock. What lit the fire for you before? For me it has been weight/health and competition with others. For others, its competition with self or a host of other reasons.

You really need to dig deep and figure out what you are doing this for. Go SILVERBACK, just a bit at a time and you will get some consistency going. The trend upward start with the first steps.

Sounds like a case of the post-IM blues.  Pretty common.  For me, doing things that are fun (5ks, weights, RAGNAR, whatever) really helped get my booty back in gear.  You've got this!

Not tri related, but it is totally helping my tri fitness, overall fitness and quality of life.

Things are starting to get back on track. Signed up for 2 HM's  1 in February and 1 in May. The second one is the big one about 5 friend/family signed up for this. So there will be plenty of smack talk leading up to this and plenty of motivation to get out running. Also doing a local 5k run  on the 1st of December. This will be my 1st stand alone 5k. It's a race series that is held the 1st saturday of every month, so will be a good measure of my progress over the next year.

Hi Kate

I've also signed up for the half outlaw. The company who organise it put on really good events. So it should be fun.

I have been taking a structured training break for a while now. I run when I feel like running, swim when I feel like swimming, and jump on my bike when I feel like riding.

Of course I started to get the urge to get on a little more structured training program so I thought I would go off and sign up for an IM.

So IMLOU 2013 will be my first go at it.

So now I am looking for an early season half to get a little motivation going, along with the infamous Hogpen Hill Climb that we seem to now ritualistically start our seasons off with. 11 miles uphill!

Got myself signed up for the HIM again and also taking on the Leadman 125 in the spring. Going to improve my bike this year and nutrition strategy going forward! Inbetween I have a couple of fun races I did last year and am looking to improve. I volunteered at IMAZ too with the possibility of signing up for that one as my A race but think I'll wait another year for better structure in training and results at the shorter courses. Hope everyone is having a good winter!
