What's the exact problem? What device do you have? We are still optimizing this...decreasing processing time, etc.

Still using the Garmin 310XT that I've used for the last  2 years.  I get the click the UPLOAD tab, then select device, then create list, then select.  The problem is after I do all of that, my workout doesn't show up in my training log.  I just went back and read the update thread and saw where there is a delay, but how long are we talking?  I would like to be able to get everything entered in one sitting and not have to come back later to finish up.

2 hours and still no workout showing up in my log.  I've now tried uploading using Google Chrome, Internet Explorer and Firefox.  What gives?

I had the same problem a few days ago.  I was just assuming it was user error on my part.  When I finally saw my workout appear a while later, it uploaded as a run workout, but I wanted it to upload as a bike workout.  I didn't see how to select bike or run.  So, I manually moved the numbers over.  Any tips are much appreciated!

The delay should be down around 45 seconds currently.  I agree, we want you to automatically get the data processed quick and go directly to your edit screen of your log at the same time.  When we released it, since we allowed processing of multiple files and new filetypes unlike before, we didn't know if it would bomb the server (we were batching around 5 minutes then for file processing).

In the next few weeks we will be working to get this instantaneous...

Just wanted to say thank you for letting us upload files manually now.  This is nice for the Joule 2.0 which doesn't use Garmin Connect, but you can export .tcx files from Poweragent

I've found this useful myself. All of the updates here are really for me.

I've tried contacting Saris about adding us to the Share Activities menu in Power Agent but I haven't heard anything back. We have the capability ready on our end.

Here's our dilemma: creating this capability is basically going to require adding the ability to upload one workout from any device to the add-event page.  The new version of the site will have this but we're looking at a mid-spring release for it. Adding it to the current version of the site won't be a small project and it will take away resources from working on the new site.

I'm going to think it over and come up with some estimate numbers during the next couple of days, then Ron and I will argue about it talk it over.

Mike/Ron

With the new process, is there a way that we can copy a planned workouts information into the actual workout and upload the garmin data to the same day?

With the old process it was as simple as hitting the copy to actual button and then hitting the upload garmin button once you're on the actual workout screen.

the new way is fine, but i prefer the old way, with the link on the page itself. saves several clicks (and time)

however, since i'm currently not paying a monthly subscription, maybe that could be a premium feature.

I hope they do this! Would make things really easy for PA users.

Didn't see the export to TCX and import from BT.  Not sure if it wouldn't just be faster to type in the 8-9 numbers but the direct upload from PA would be awesome.

After the popup indicating that the upload was successful and will appear in the training log shortly, how about a little indicator saying "inserting into training log" and then run a small query in the background with ajax (or whatever) that checks to see if it was done or not and then when it has been imported successfully, change the message to indicate that it's ready?

ETA: I really like the new process.  Doing multiple uploads at some point is sure to come in handy.

Axteraa, that is one of the design requirements of the new site. Any time there's a process where we'll be waiting for the system to do something it's going to give status updates in english of exactly what it's doing. Spinners aren't enough.

I'm not a fan so far.  Seemed fine the way it was.

And that tiny little NOT OBVIOUS  little uload link? Bleh.  Never saw it until I read through a couple pages of "Where'd the Garmin Upload Button Go?" threads.

it seems much faster and more reliable than the old way so far with my Garmin 305. I like it just wish when you clicked on the "return to training" log button after it is downloaded it returned you to that days workout instead of the overview of the week.

We're going to restore the old Garmin functionality for now, so we'll have both available. We're not going to add the new devices and interfaces to it though. To upload multiple Garmin workouts or upload from anything but a Garmin device, the new Upload page will have to be used.

The old functionality should be back within 48 hours.

First general observations, second I'm having an issue with a manual file.

First:

I really like uploading multiple days and getting them to go to the right category.

There are some usability features that would be usefull when you roll the new site:

  1. More information on the workout such as length/type
  2. Ability to change type/day (in case of bad garmin usage)

Second:

I'm having a problem uploading a file from Trainer Road.  They are creating a TCX file for us now, and I try to upload it, and it says it works.  But it never seems to show up on the log.

If a file fails in the background process is there a log we can see, or any indication it failed?

It's doing it again!!! 30+ minutes since I uploaded my workout and its still not showing up in my logs.  Please, please, please fix this.  I know you guys are working on the new site, but in the meantime this is getting really frustrating.

Also, if I use the "Import from Garmin" button in the training log I get : 0% after hitting Get Data and then nothing happens.
