Shermbelle - 2012-01-16 7:36 PM How did everyone's weekend shake out? I got in some great workouts, eating was a little sketchy at times but overall descent.

No workout Saturday in preperation for a race Sunday but I also drank way too much pop Saturday, food wise wasn't bad.  I did a race Sunday which was only 45 minutes.  I then went to Granite City's Sunday Brunch and probably rewarded myself a little too much.  Guess we will find out tomorrow!

Not Good on the workouts, did an hour of shoveling snow, but that was it. Lots to do around the house and then enjoyed watching My 49ers finally back in the playoffs and enjoyed several beers! got back to it Monday with a 4 mile run and then weights!

Whats's your secret for losing the inches?

I wish I had a "secret"

I do LOTS of cardio, and change it up, elliptical, incline treadmill ( walking, not running ), biking, swimming.

I do some weight lifting as well, I've been trying to do weights and swimming on alternating days.

Lean diet.  Low to moderate on the carbs and fats, high in proteins.

Lots of variation between intense and easy workouts.

Could just be the way my body puts on/loses the weight too.  I look like I was stung by a bee compared to before my accident, but a significant portion of the weight is on the belly as well.

I seem to keep it in the gut more than other places! Even last year when I was training for my HIM. I probably need to cut back on the carbs, I have cut my calorie intake back and that is helping me lose weight, I just need to keep at it, I am making progress!

I am focusing on running and weight training, nothing heavy just high rep circuits. will start ot mix in some trainer rides soon.

Do you guys weigh yourselves daily?  Personally I do not.  I have found it to be discouraging in that I might way a pound heavier than the day before.  Alot of different factors could lead to that but its a psychological thing.  I go for long term results and only check my weight about once ever ten days to two weeks.  This way I'm not so wrapped up in the daily readings and focus on the big picture.

Just my $.02

I understand. My wife will only weigh weekly. But, I guess it depends on the kind of person you area. At work, I deal with a lot of data on a daily basis. And I understand that variation in my weight will occur because of water gain/loss and several other factors. So I don't mind weighing daily, and am not thrown by the wide swings in my weight on a daily basis. To recognize weight loss (or gain ), I calculate a weekly average and check that with prior weeks. To me, it seems like an average over a week is probably a better indicator of true weight change than taking weekly measurements.

Also, just my 2/100ths.

Sometimes I think that I only exercise to generate data -- I'm a true nerd.

Start Weight    236

Goal For January  228

Overall Goal   205

1-11   230.5 Good week, back on track to hit my overall goal!

1-18   229.5 A pound a week, I can live with that. Slow and steady, that's how I got fat, that's                           how I will get lean! I am learning to embrace the hunger.

I am sooo happy to see there are more nerds out there!

I am in!

Starting weight: 210.2

Goal weight: 190

January goal: 206

If I consistently lose a pound per week I will reach my goal and do it in a sustainable way.  The goal is to lose weight AND keep it off!  Lets do this!

1/11: 209.2  well I reached my lbs a week goal but I really need to work on my eating habbits.  too much snacking and drinking beer.  Hopefully I can get another lbs this week.

1/18: 208.4  Barely off of my 1 lb per week which is close enough for me!  Any weight loss is good weight loss.  I did have a great swim workout this morning so I am pumped about that.  I am also one of those that weighs daily because it keeps me motivated.  I have noticed a trend that my "lightest day" is Thursday.  My heaviest is Tuesday.  I attribute Tuesday to having Monday off from workouts and your body tends to load up and then adjusts itself when you get back to your normal schedule!

Everyone keep it up!

Hope everyone is doing well. Sorry this is short I am on my phone at work. My workouts are back in order and my eating has been pretty good too. And it shows.

Xmas. 219 lbs
Jan 4. 215.4
Jan 11 214.6
Jan 18 212.2 lbs

Back to my all time low soon enough and hopefully 2012 will be the year I go under 200.

Keep it up everyone. I started out with my first weigh in at 279 lbs. So it can be done. Just keep pushing forward even when you have a not so good week. Look at what you have done and adjust it. Wait 2 weeks to see what it does then change it again if need be.

Good luck everyone. Keep up the hard work.

Move along folks. Nothing to see here. <heavy sigh>

I'm not sure what's wrong. I'm working out now, and granted my eating hasn't been great, but it's betther than last year. I'd just hoped for a little more. Down, but not out.

Been sick since Saturday with a headcold so just light stretching as my activity most of the week.  Oh well,  hopefully it will pass soon and I'll get back on track.  Actually happy I didn't put on significantly more weight like I normally would.

Well you have probably already answerd what is wrong.. your eating is better but hasn't been great. Make sure you are protein based diet for weight loss and you eat every 3 hours never go longer then 4.. With out seeing your intake daily and the times and what you eat it would be hard to tell.

I try to make sure my diet is 40-50% protein based for weight loss and carbs are only 25-35% of my diet. That helped me pull off all my weight.

Some awesome weigh ins so far this month, keep it going gang. The steam starts to where off a little as the New Years Resolutions get a little older and older. Remember THIS is the year we ALL hit our goals!!!

And yes, the race to the sub 200 club is on in force amongst many of us Laughing

1-2 = 232

1-5 = 229.5

1-11 = 226

1-19 = 226

No change but was sick the last week and spent a couple of days in bed. Pretty happy with the maintaining actually. Expect there is some fat loss/muscle gain in there as well as I am running far better. 1 more pound in the next 11 days seems doable for the month goal.
