That was a hard choice but I went with Depeche Mode because Somebody is our song.

I agree with the poster mentioningthat The Cure wins for individual songs but DM for overall consistency

...ahhh, how it brings me back! I'm feeling like I need to done some black ripped tights and smoke a clove cigarette

the clove cigarette was THE thing back then if you were clubbing and not into mainstream music...I was just thinking about them two days ago as I reflected on memories of my best friend from youth (who died too early at 35). We'd have crucifixes and all types of necklaces on, paisley shirts, spiked and thrown hair, black pants, black creeper boots...smoking cloves...we were too cool (in our minds). What fun it was. I have great memories.
Yes, clove cigarettes behind Quick Trip and we actually hung out at gay bars with their awesome music and no ID checking. I had pink hair.

I was seriously trying to figure this out myself. And I think I have to agree. The Cure tops out for me with a few songs. Staring at the Sea Singles was probably the best Album ever for me. But over All DM stuck with me consistently from high school through college. And only the odd Cure song did it for me after.

Wow. Fascination Street was the best cd ever made. Rare is the band that can be funky and dark at the same time. (Hey man, Spider Man's coming over for dinner to--night...) But Depeche Mode.... I had a bootleg copy of Black Celebration the Black Tulip Remix from a concert in Germany that I played over and over again until the TAPE broke.

Youtube's got the greatest collection of DM videos. If you get nostalgic.
