A lot. Now that I've got that whole running thing sorted, life is grand. But I miss my bike. I love training so much that I've gone to lecture in bike shorts, jersey and helmet (Forgot it was on)

I'm obsessed with it. When not doing it, I'm constantly thinking about it. I can't get enough of it. Especially like challenging workouts that when you tell people about it, they think you're crazy.

On the down side, today was an off day and I feel absolutely horrible. I feel incomplete, like my whole persona is missing.

I go through phases.

I always enjoy actually being out there and working out (unless it's really cold and some of my body parts are threatening to die and fall off), but towards the end of my building cycles my body gets really beat up and it's sometimes a chore to get out the door. But once I'm out, I'm glad I got out, and I feel better for it.

But right now all my body can think is "Enough speedwork! when do we taper?!"

I love to train, but I like resting too!

I keep in my mind what my coach tells me will allow me to get faster and in what order.....first intervals, then rest, then long slow work. I need to be ready to do big and difficult workouts and resting properly helps me to do that. It is easier to rest to get faster as I don't have to do anything.

I love the anticipation I get after a rest day or rest week to get back at training. The last 5-6 months I have had 2 rest days a week and it has been so much better for me...training days are tough...most have 2 workouts a day and Sundays three...long ride/run brick and a swim but I see a faster increase in my improvement balancing training and resting right.

I daydream about my training at work....love training at lunch and zip home to do my training...I think about it way to much....have excel spreadsheets at work to compare swim times over the winter...way to obssessed...but I like it!

Oh yeah... Like many others, I'm all over training! But I think I had been overdoing it a bit the past couple weeks so I had to work a few extra rest days in this week and I have to say I'm starting to feel better for it.

There is no doubt you're not going to progress without training but as others have said, rest is also an important part of the plan.

Keep on keepin' on!

With a solid base I am now at the stage that I really look forward to my planned workouts but I'm not obsessed so much that I do extra (training plan is there for a reason!).
I am pretty obsessed with making my goals (right up to 2008!) but try not to talk about it too much to husband and friends as they just haven't got the enthusiasm.

With kids its always a balance of course but I am lucky enough to be a stay at home mum at the moment so can get my workouts done in the day and not eat into family time too much at the weekends

Luckily this website is my obsessive outlet.

I enjoy it, but can't say I am obsessed with it - I'm a certified race junkie so it's all a means to an end.   It's much, MUCH easier to really enjoy it now that the weather is finally warming up.  Winter training blows.

It is very easy to get obsessed with it.......especailly since you have three things to choose from.

I believe there are actually at least TEN disciplines associated with triathlon training:

1. Swim
2. Bike
3. Run
4. Nutrition
5. Transitions
6. Pre-race mental freak out time
7. Shopping for stuff, ebay, gear catalogs, comparison pricing, gear lust, bike porn
8. planning for training, HR zones, making graphs and schedules, general tri-geek obsession
9. finding races, scheduling races, talking about races, and reading BT race reports
10. post-race beer and pizza gluttony

See? I didn't even including the actual racing. This stuff is all-consuming, barely leaving time to race!

Same here.. I try to make it part of my daily life so that I am filling the USDA recommended 45-60 minutes of exercise everyday.

When I get in shape, I finish a workout and wish I had time to do another one immediately afterwards. That's when I knew this sport had a hold on me.
