Sunny
Total Time = 25m 54s
Overall Rank = 104/552
Age Group = 30-39
Age Group Rank = 18/53
Pre-race routine:

Get up early (4:30am) breakfast with 2 slices of whole grain bread.
Cleaned kitchen to spent some time and allow food to settle.
Got to race and picked up the packet, very happy about nice indoor restrooms as my tummy was a bit upset.
Event warmup:

I don't believe in too much warmup, so I jumped in place and stood inside where it's warm.
Prepared myself mentally to run a a new PR by keeping a 9:30min/mile.
Run
  • 25m 54s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 08m 20s  min/mile
Comments:

New PR, but maybe could have given more to come into first 100.
Started out at 8min/mile which was faster than planned so I decided to keep up the pace.
What would you do differently?:

Wear shorts
Post race
Warm down:

Needed to catch my breath and head to indoor restroom.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Hlaf Marathon the week before.

Event comments:

This was one of the better organized races. Besides that everyone got a handpainted medal from the kids that benefit from the collected money.
The free give-aways afterwards where great!
Breakfast burittos, coffee, smoothie, energy drink, etc.
Then really gret prizes where raffled away.
This was a TOP-NOTCH event!

Congrats on the PR!  Did you do Cowtown last week?  I did the half and haven't fully recovered.  I love the medals, very cool they were made by the kids.

Yeah,

the Cowtown was our (my wife ad I run together) firsht HalfMarathon.

So we focused on finishing and did not push too hard, but it probably did not help for this race ;-)

The medals where the reasonwhy we signed up for the race!
