I have my first sprint triathlon at the end of this month on the 26th of June. I am starting to get nervous even now just thinking about it. I have to thank everyone for the great articles on transition set ups and code violations.
I am looking forward to seeing how I can do with this. I am racing in an area that I have never been in and won't get there until the night before. I really don't know what to expect, but I know that I am determined to finish the race!

My first race is on the 27th of June and I'm feeling the same. I do have an advantage though, I live 30 minutes from the race and have seen the lake and the bike route. If the weather is good on Saturday I plan to ride the bike route.

Where is the event being held?

Is the race route posted on the event website?

The nerves before your first race are typical. I get all worked up before every race. I would suggest driving the bike course when you get in the night before just to see if there are any hills. It is nice to know when you have a climb ahead and if there is a turn at the bottom of a hill or anything like that.
Other than that, I wouldn't worry about it. Just enjoy the moment. Embrace the nervousness. You worked hard to get to this point. Saver every moment.
GOOD LUCK!

The race is in Madison, MS. It is called Tri4God. All the proceeds go toward their ministry so I though it was for a good cause.
I have to go to the area to pick up my registration packet the night before the race, so I will be able to drive the area. There is a description on the web site and they say there are some hills. Not too many hills here on the Gulf Coast, but will try to get as many in as possible before the race.
Thanks for the encouraging words.

Good luck. I'm sure you will do fine. I suggest you taper a bit towards the end of your last week and try to eat healthy. Other than than that ENJOY, MArk
