Subject: Aaaahhhh first clipless ride !!!!

They are so right once you go clipless you never go back!!! That was freaking awesome!!! Don't have too much trouble unclipping and clipping the right, but the left gives me a bit of trouble still. 1-2 minutes to get it in. But so much fun. You really do finally feel one with the bike. But parts of my legs hurt that didn't hurt before lol Didn't exactly gain the proposed 2 MPH as I went from 12.40 to 13.86 comparing a 1/2/12 ride with today at the beginning of training, but a gain is a gain! And it's just FUN =)

Eventually I'll go to just mountain bike clipless and then road clipless, but for now the mountain bike dual-sided will do =) Great "training" pedals!!! And if *I* can do clipless, ***ANYONE*** can do clipless lol 

I forget, am I supposed to be training? Because I felt like a kid in a pool of those little fun balls =)

They are very helpful. Chances are you will fall at some point but hopefully you don't!

You WILL fall.

If you're like me, you'll fall on the MTB because your foot slipped off the platform pedals.

One more reason to _love the feeling of control you get from clipless.

Attractive people WILL be looking.

Warning: Said attractive people may approach to see that you're OK.

If you're too much like me, you'll then miss the opportunity to hit on them because you weren't quite ready to turn around and laugh at yourself.

ditto on the "you will fall".  It's like a right of passage.  But chances are it will be when you're stopped so it won't hurt that bad :P

I think if I ever fall it will be because I'll forget I'm clipped in, I can see that happening, not because I'll have trouble unclipping.  And it would be at a stop light.  In front of a really hot single guy.

Falling can be pretty funny no matter who is around. I just started with clipless, have done a couple rides and was trying to adjust my postion while in the garage without anything to support the bike - a friend was helping me do the adjustment and was holding the bike up while I clipped in. I leaned too far, flipped, came unclipped just as I hit the ground with legs flailing and kicked tools everywhere!

Best part is, my 3 year old son was watching wide eyed and horrified. Now everywhere he goes (including at my first race of the year), he tells complete strangers "Daddy fell off his bike! It was scary. He kicked all the tools and yelled" Embarassed

Only two people saw me fall, but dozens know all about it!

1-2 minutes to get in?  You might need some more practice.  That's a long time.  What kind of pedals do you have?
