I work in Schaumburg and will go to The Pavilion Aquatic Center in Elk Grove Village.  It is close and they have a decent indoor pool to swim in, usually have no problem getting my own lane.  Also, if you are also looking for a place to put in a run, Busse Woods Forest Preserve is nearby with roughly 10 miles of paved trails to run and bike along.

I work in Schaumburg, so I know the area pretty well.

I second Busse Woods as a great place to run.  There's also the Poplar Creek Forest Preserve that's just west of Schaumburg on Golf Road.  Both have nice paved trails that loop around for running several miles.  You could ride your bike at both of them as well, rather than deal with the traffic in the area which is rather busy.

In terms of pools, there is a Lifetime Fitness just west of the mall.  It's a 25M pool.  Not sure whether it's possible to get a temporary membership there.  You could at least get a free 1 week "guest pass" by being interested in joining the gym.    I'm a LTF member, so that's where I swim.

Harper College has a "Spring Pass" for access to the facilities there, that may be worth it, if you're going to be here for 3 full weeks.  I've not swum in the pool there, but they have a really nice outdoor track.  It's just north of Schaumburg on Roselle Road.
