Subject: April Run &/or Bike Across America Challenge! (Run and/or Bike Team Challenge)
With the spectactular weather rolling across the country letting us all know spring has sprung, how about a challenge to get things off on the right foot? My friends and Teammates at Revolution 3 Triathlon will be commencing a Run Across America starting on March 26th in Oceanside California and finishing in Washington DC on April 16th.

Realizing that most of us can't take 21 days off to do a relay across america, Rev3 developed a Virtual Run option to allow us to join them. 3080 miles in 21 days. Can BT put together a team that can match Team Rev3's efforts? Join the Virtual run challenge, get in shape for the spring and take advantage of spring and get off on the right foot. If we can get 20 folks thats about 7 miles per person a day, plus we get to see how well BT stacks up with other teams (including those chumps at ST . )

See the link for addition details. Since this is BT I would also like to put a Bike Across America group as well (15 miles a day for group of 10.) Although we wouldn't be eligible for any rewards, it would still be a good challenge)

A donation to the Ulman Cancer Fund would be appriciated but is not required. Thanks!

(Title edited by D001 to specify this is an April Run/Bike Team challenge.)

Hi Andy,

Here's the thing.... All BT challenges need to be run via the BT website, and you're asking everyone to go register at Rev3, which is NOT part of BT. However, I see that you're an active BT member who is trying to put together a BT team, which muddies the issue a little.

So here's my 'challenge' to you ( ).... Can you think of a way to tie this challenge to the BT website so that it becomes a BT Challenge (and not just a Rev3 challenge)?

THanks for the clarification! This would be a BT challenge! We would keep the milage/progress on the BT site and I added the Ride option which is outside the scope of the REV3 RAA challenge.

I would post our totals on the REV3 site to allow our group to see how we are doing relative to other outside groups if the group agreed to it.

Since this is a BT challenge we have the options to add run only, run/bike, and bike groups.

21 days and 3080 miles for the group would be a great accomplishment, and help get everyone into race shape this spring!

Sounds good! Thanks! And you're absolutely right --- 3080 miles in 21 days would be a fantastic accomplishment!

We could also make this an April challenge to differentiate between the Rev3 RAA and this challenge. How about April 9th thru April 30th? I really would like to get a few folks on board.

Great! The more people we get in the challenge the fewer miles we each have to do.

I'll put together the spreadsheet and we'll start recording milage on April 9th. Spread the word, the more people the further we will get. Challenge is 21 days to travel 3080 miles as a group (or see how far we can get). April 9th- April 30th

We will be virtually following the route the Rev3 RAA folks are traveling now.

Does it count to use a treadmill and/or bike at the gym?  If so, I'm in! If not, I will cheer you on from the sidelines

I've set up a spreadsheet for everyone.

It has a goal column, just in case you want to set a goal. But it'll be the TOTAL columns at the bottom that count towards the challenge.

Click here to access the spreadsheet:
