Subject: Cannondale Tiagra?
Hi, I am just training for my first triathlon and have never really done any proper cycling before apart from the usual leisurely rides in the countryside!  I'm off this afternoon to look at bikes and I'd love your opinions on the Cannondale 2012 CAAD8 6 Tiagra.  It's at the top of my budget so I defo can't go any higher than this.  I live in France and the cost new here is euros 999.  Any advice? Thank you!

That would be a great first road bike, I've got one bike with Tiagra and one with 105 and there's not much difference IMO. If the price is right I'd buy it.

There's always a better bike if you keep searching but the bet plan is to get a good bike you can afford and start riding! Have fun!

I have Tiagra 9spd on my caad9, it is just as smooth, in fact it's quieter than the ultegra 6700 on my tribike... Part of the reason why i ride my caad 90% of the time.
