Extreme Veteran  1769     In front of computer when typing this. |  Subject: OWS in Fort LauderdaleHey there- I will be in Ft. Lauderdale from Tue to Fri for work and wanted to swim. Is there anything I need to know about the ocean around there? Can I just get in, go past the breakers and swim parallel to the shore like you can here (North Carolina)? Seems like it shouldn't be a problem but I thought I would check with you guys. Thanks for any input. |

Veteran 254 Gold member | Subject: RE: OWS in Fort Lauderdale That should be fine. In some spots there are even lifeguards and lifeguard stations. If it is windy beware of rip currents. Dangerous, those. Pay attention for prevailing currents. Bill |

Saw a couple of fish...no sharks :-) |
