Swim – 1.5 Kilometers - This open water swim will have a wave start from the pier at 58 Landing. Swimmers will go out parallel to the shore line for 725 meters to the first buoy. The course will then take a left away from shore to the second buoy 25 meters away. After another left the swimmers will then be parallel the the shore (to your left side) for another 725 meter leg. The course then makes a final left at the 3rd buoy sending the swimmers to the SWIM EXIT at the boat ramp
Bike – 40 Kilometers - The Storm the Fort bike course is gently rolling out and back, with a moderate half mile climb at mile 2.5, then a tough 1 mile climb at mile 21.5. But is definitely the flattest bike course on the RDE schedule. Bottle exchange (water only) at bike turnaround.
Run – 10 Kilometers - The run course is a combination of paved greenway and downtown streets. The run starts at the north end of the transition area onto the Kingston Greenway. The first greenway section is about 500 meters and is a two way section so please be cautious of oncoming runners This section ends as you transition to the Kentucky St section of the course. One lane of Kentucky St will be closed during the race. There will be 2 water stops along this section of the course that you will pass twice as there is a turnaround just passed the 4K mark.
On the return leg of the run you will follow the same closed lane. Please be cautions as there will be runners coming from the opposite direction during the race. This is especially important when you get back to the narrower greenway section because that is also a two way area. The race course follows the greenway passed the transition area and continues toward the finish at Fort Southwest Point. This section of the course is mostly wooded and has some surprising hills. The last water station is located at the 9k mark.
