Subject: OWS - NoVA?

I was hoping to do an OWS before my first race this year.  Any suggestions for where to go this weekend?

It looks like Rehab to Race is not having an open weekend until May 13.  There is something at Lake Anna on Saturday, but that is a bit farther than I was hoping to go.  Other options?

See here.  There are Thursday evening swims @ National Harbour if you could fit that in.  Not sure if anything offered this weekend.

Like Melanie posted. the National harbor evening swims started last week. This is probably your best bet. WaveOne also has a couple clinics in Maryland the first 2 weekends in June if you can wait that long.

You could also just out to sandy point and swim if you are comfortable going solo. not sure what the water temp would be this time of year.

Additionally while I have never been there, you can swim at your own risk at Gunpowder Falls State Park.

Do you have a wetsuit? R2R does OWS clinics in Haymarket but wetsuits are required.

DCRainmaker has some thoughts on the matter as well.

Hey Matt, you are Alison's friend!

Also, you can swim in the Potomac River near Whites Ferry when water levels are right.
