Anyone running Bloomsday?  If so, is this your first one?  If not, how many will this be?

I'm doing it this year.  It will be my first.  Unfortunately, I'm recovering from an injury so I don't really plan on racing it full out.

I never turned in any results from previous 10k's, so it looks like I'll be starting in the green section. Will there be a lot of strollers & walkers in my way?  No big deal, just wondering.

as someone who grew up in the Spokane area I never did it - mostly because I hate such large crowds. I do not plan on doing it now but I always have some friends who do it.

I much prefer the smaller, though growing, Seahawks 12k in renton.

Good luck to all who are running it though.

Yeah, Take it easy in the green.  There will be many, many people at  around 9:30-11:00 mile.  Some are walking.  Lots of trafic to weave in and out of.  Keeps it interesting.  I started in the green 3 years ago do to the same situation and was able to come out with a decent time.  There is a lot of passing, and I don't think I felt free from trafic until the Doomsday hill at mile 4.  Something about running in the midst of 50K people that is fun and nerve wracking all at the same time!

Hope you have a great experience and come back next year as well.

Signed up last minute last night!  This will be my 2nd time running it and 2nd time starting in yellow.  Last year I did a qualifying 5 mile race to get out of the mess I have heard green is, as it turns out, yellow still has tons of weaving in and out of people, mysterious walkers all over the place within a mile or so, etc.  Still a total blast, random strangers along the course cheering you on, high fiving little kids, live music, it's a big party!

I was in the mid/back of the yellow last year and ditto your sentiments about the mass of folks jogging and walking, bobbing and weaving.  I'm hoping to get in towards the front of the yellow this year and see if that's any different.  It is a wild ride.

Hope you have a good race!

Good deal!  It went great, my goal was to beat last years 54:42(first Bloomsday for me) and I hit 52:11(my GPS time), really happy with that, especially considering my insanely hilly bike ride last night.

Nice Run Smithe68.  I was just behind you at 52:34, Timex time.  It was a pr for me as well.  Had a goal to go under 53.  I had to run sub 7:00's the last 2.5 to do, but I got it.  It was a gorgeous day out today.

Had an enjoyable corona w/lime as post race beverage.  Cheers.

Nice run yourself.  Out of curiosity, right at the end, did a tall skinny guy in a bright orange shirt pass you on the left?

What did the back of the shirt say?  If it was a runner club shirt, I remember, If not, by the end, I was in blackout mode on the downhill from the 2.5 mile sprint from doomsday to the finish.  We must have been in the vacinity of one another.  How cool is that?

Nothing, it was just an Adidas shirt but, if you were wearing a grey shirt similar to your avatar pic, it was you.  Pulled up my official time this morning, 52:09!

Nah, I had on a powder bllue long sleaved windermere tech shirt.  It's amazing how many people go by in :20 at that race.  Nice time.  I was at 52:33.
