Pre-race routine:

Setup transition. Ate boiled egg, drank juice, topk potasiam pill.
Event warmup:

Swam 2 laps, practiced crossing under ropes.
Swim
  • 06m 5s
  • 300 yards
  • 02m 02s / 100 yards
Comments:

Felt really confortable on the swim. Caught someone on the 4th lap and stayed their till the final lenght and then sprinted to the finish.
Transition 1
  • 01m 51s
Comments:

Quick transition. Felt good after the swim
Bike
  • 46m 19s
  • 15 miles
  • 19.43 mile/hr
Comments:

Headed North with the wind and kept a high speed. Heading South against the wind kept my head down and pusshed hard. Headeding back North again, passed a few riders and psuehd up to 24 mph and held for a little while.
What would you do differently?:

One of my better efforts on the bike. I pushed hard with the wind and was not conservative and it paid off in the end.
Transition 2
  • 01m 20s
Comments:

No cramps, was pretty tired, but got out of the area pretty quickly.
Run
  • 29m 47s
  • 3 miles
  • 09m 56s  min/mile
Comments:

I puched on the bike and it was hot for the run. I walked just enough to get a sip of water and poor the rest over my head.
What would you do differently?:

I think I need ot carry water on me in the bike vest.
Post race
Warm down:

walked around, ate a few oranges, and drank some water. Found a popcycle and it really cooled me off.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

the heat

Event comments:

My second attempt at this race. I took 12 minutes off of my time from last year. I was very pleased, improving on everything. This is a well organized race with plenty of food and drinks for after the race.
