Subject: Need a Swimming Trainer/Coach

Have done a few Sprint Tri's and still need help with my swimming.  Accustomed to TI swimming but my kick drags me (runners kick).  Looking for someone to help me with my technique/endurance and anxiety.  From Webster, MA(near Worcester, MA)

Any suggestions appreciated.

Hmmm... me too! I'm from Hudson, Ma and basically taught myself to swim thru you tube videos, library books (total immersion) and self talk...("be long, breathe, move your arms w/purpose..etc) I have low budget with higher ambition, don't really have funds for a "coach" but need/looking for support as well.

My suggestion is: find a local Masters swim program and go to all the workouts. Your swimming will improve dramatically.

Check out VMPS in Millbury. they have partnered with Patty Flanagan in Worcester. She is awesome!

Great affordable suggestion! I'll do it, I see a couple of groups at the pool where I swim. I just haven't wanted to interfere w/ workout times being tight often before work etc.. I'll speak up and see if anybody's willing. Thanks

I've hired Katherine Schwab (bigdreamsfitness.com) for a couple TI coaching sessions in the past, and found her to be pretty good.  Rates are like $65/hr - so it's something that can be done every few months.  She'll write down what things need work, then you go work on them for a few months, and when you reach a plateau, sign up for another session.

Patty is great.

Also great, but a little farther away is Deanna at athleticpursuits.com

There's a master's program at the greendale Y, and another one at WPI.
