Subject: help me arrange IM training schedule around a sprint (pls)

Background: I'm just starting week 15 of IM training (fink intermediate plan, third time around for IMWI)

There's a sprint tri in my town - the ONLY tri in my town - and I want to support it.  If falls on the Sunday of week 17.

That week, my Saturday is supposed to be a 3.5 hr bike, Sunday is supposed to be a 1.25 hr run. (The next week, week 18, includes a olympic tri, which I'm not planning on doing - instead doing a normal weekend of training, 4ish hr bike, 1.25ish hr run)

This is what I was thinking:  Do the scheduled bike on the Sat right before the (sprint) tri (maybe 30ish minutes LESS than scheduled), then skip the run on Sunday and instead do the tri. 

Any advice, thoughts, suggestions? (I hope my explanation make sense...)

If it was me (and you have alot more experience than I do) I would do the saturday ride and the sprint sunday and then take the usual monday off.

A sprint is only a little more work load than a 1.25hr run and if your not extremely worried about your time you can dial it back just a notch on the run.

I had a similar scenario.  I ended up swapping the weeks because I did not have an Olympic race scheduled.

I have a sprint coming up in a few weeks...planning on doing my planned 100mile bike ride the day before.

And...if you're not shelled after the sprint, you could always go out for another 30 min of run after the race...either as a cool down, or later that evening.
