Subject: RE: Half Ironman before Full Ironman Really depends on how you race that half. If you use it as a training session then you should be fine. If you go out all in full on race mode, well, you never know what might happen. I did a half about 6 weeks before I did a full, but I used it specifically for training. I basically used it as practice to get all my pacing and nutrition in order. So I was moving at my Ironman pace level, so naturally, I finished nearly dead last. But, I also felt completely fine and continued on training the next day as if I just finished a long training session. So I don't think it's crazy so long as you don't do anything stupid during the race. |
