Completely pointless Guess my TT time thread

Master  1858     Salt Lake City |  Subject: Completely pointless Guess my TT time threadOnce every three or four weeks, part of my Tri club's wednesday night ride is a 7 mile TT. Terrain is pancake flat, and this wednesday the wind was very calm. My time for 7 miles was 18:19 averaging 22.93mph. Equipment: Carbon fiber road bike riding in the drops, box rims, regular road helmet, single bottle on the downtube. I recently purchased a 2011 Specialized Transition Pro. Full SRAM red groupo with a Zipp vuka aero cockpit. I've got a 50mm carbon wheel front and back with a wheelcover for the back. The bike is currently at the LBS being matched to my fitting. I'll also race with a full aero helmet. So, my question is: How will I fare next time around on a 7 Mile TT assuming I did it in full decked out aero gear? Over 20k? 40k? |

Master 1858 Salt Lake City | Subject: RE: Completely pointless Guess my TT time thread Edit: this was in response to daharryone's post asking for additional information that he decided to edit out  So far this season: bike leg of an Oly that was 20.5 miles 1:00:XX. Course had one significant climb about a mile long and 14.6 mile bike leg of a sprint with two huge climbs in 42:30 -20.6 mph, I lost close to 3 minutes due to a shoe malfunction. Both races were done with the same road bike setup riding in the drops but with the 50mm carbon wheelset. Edited by JZig 2012-06-22 2:54 PM |

| Subject: RE: Completely pointless Guess my TT time thread Bike position (drops to aerobars) is about 1.5 mph. Wheels and helmet is another .6 mph. So roughly 25 mph? I agree with chris though...just shoot for 26 and see what happens. |

If his position doesn't suck, that alone is worth more than a minute (considering a normal road position) probably a bit more. |
