Swim
Comments: Seemed like a good swim for me. I started at the "front" and basically got dropped into the first group, letting the fishy do their thing. Exactly where I wanted to be for the most part. Sun was a bit of an issue, but fortunately I found a good set of feet and cruised it on in. What would you do differently?: Nothing comes to mind exactly other than another couple of million meters practicing. Transition 1
Comments: Pretty good transition. Not my fastest, but not too bad when you consider all the bouncing around done on the grass. Still, gotta find the time to speed this up ~5-10 seconds What would you do differently?: A little more practice would be nice. Bike
Comments: Sadly my tri bike is still in about a hundred pieces (as I wait on parts) from the trip to A2, so I didn't get to ride it. I was on my CR-1, without aerobars. The rest of it was Tri'd out (Disc, Jet9, Aero bottle/helmet) so I suspect that helped a bit, but still... well... let's put it this way... Last year I put out 9 FEWER watts but was 2 minutes faster. yeah, there's a difference between them. Also on the way back I was tucked on a downhill (chin to stem sitting on top tube style) and as I sat back up my calf cramped up something fierce. It was unenjoyable for sure... I got it worked out pretty fast, but man it was not how I wanted to finish the last mile or two. What would you do differently?: Ride my tri bike. Not get a cramp. Transition 2
Comments: Alright, just a little showboating... lots of riding on one shoe with a nice little skip at the dismount line. You know, for flair. Otherwise it was business. Helmet off running shoes on. What would you do differently?: Pretty quick T2, about 5" or so off the fastest Run
Comments: Lost 2 places during the course of the run, which is an improvement over the past (where I lose a ton of spots on the run) Nonetheless, I always feel like I'm just lumbering along during the run portion... maybe someday I'll feel a bit more like a runner. What would you do differently?: More miles in the legs, not get injured last year :P Post race
Warm down: Moved around a bit and just chilled out. Drank a lot of liquids and ate some banana's. Otherwise just watched some other's finish. What limited your ability to perform faster: Bike selection, past injuries, being a wuss. Event comments: There's always room for more Volunteer's, but that's not easy to control. Somebody standing at ALL the turns on the run would be a good thing, despite checking out the course extensively this time it was still mildly confusing during the heat of the moment. I also saw at least one person go the wrong way. Endurance Sports Management and Kevin put on great events. I would definitely recommend any of his races. Very good treatment to the last person across the line as well as the first! Last updated: 2012-06-24 12:00 AM

Up and at em' early. Breakfast, stop at the gas station for a Muscle Milk (for after the race) and just basically the normal routine for a race.
Got out on the bike for a few minutes, then ran (and checked out the course) for a good piece, and finally hopped in the water and made sure all was good.
