There is an article on this condition in the current edition of Runners World. One thing I like to do to alleviate foot problems is barefoot running in the grass. I try to do this once a week and I have no issues with my feet.

Check this thread that was posted about a week ago, as it had some similar discussion:

If you have Planar Fasciitis, it is most likely due to your arches not being supported enough so you will want to always wear shoes with good arch support (no barefoot). There are a ton of ideas on helping with planar fasciitis(ART, stretches, OTC insoles, etc.) but the only thing that works with regularity (that I know of) is orthotics. You will probably want to see a podiatrist and have them first tape your arches to support them. If this helps with the problem, orthotics will help. If the taping doesn't help, a good podiatrist can help you figure out what direction to go.

Had it in both feet and ended up on crutches. Worked in a warehouse and had crappy shoes. Nothing like
walking on concrete all day with no support. Had to see a podiatrist, he took molded casts of my feet and
in a week I had inserts that gave me arch support. Used them for 2 years and have been pain free since,
make sure you get good shoes. That's one item I wouldn't skimp on.
Jamma.
