Many thanks to my Dad for making me get rid of Kessiakoff  yesterday. I was spitting feathers when I saw how well Vino was doing. Piffed off with unclipping his pedal yesterday wasn't he.

Dee & Cat - What's with picking Voeckler??? Really??? You think???  Two days running!!! There's more chance of the French bringing royalty back.

Cat, you wearing black today?

And so concludes the most predictable Tour ever.

Well, until the tests for both Froome and Wiggins come back positive.

I kinda wanted Froome to just bolt off and leave Wiggins, just to give the stage some excitement. I think he could have several times, he kept having to slow up for Wiggo.  And what happened with Voeckler and Levi? It seemed like they were catching Valverde, then the next thing I know the peloton caught them. I guess when you crack, you crack. I was also thinking (hoping) that Nibali would make a move today. It seems like all the GC guys know they need to make a move on Wiggins, but none of them are able to. Sky is setting such a fast pace that they are doing their best just to keep up.

Yay Voeckler!

The more it watch him ride, the more I like him. He's cagey and fun to watch and there's an Everyman quality about him that I appreciate.

I went with Voeckler and Kessiakov today because of the KOM competition. They started the day just a few points apart, so I figured they'd both be desperate to get into the break. Then, as they racked up those KOM points, I figured that if the break could stay away, they'd automatically be in the leading group at the finish.

See? There was some-kinda-thinking going on there in my little brainz.

Too bad Valverde told Nibali that he couldn't join their breakaway party. Would have been really nice if they'd cruised across the line together because I picked Nibali, but not Valverde today!

Maybe I *want* the red lantern on my blog for the next year?

Well, I promise I won't pick him for Stage 18.

I wonder if he'll have a polka-dot helmet tomorrow.

Polka dot bike?

kaqphin - 2012-07-19 7:35 AM Black? Yesterday was the best day of racing we have had all Tour.. I didnt fall asleep once!

Really?  Were we watching the same race?  I was yelling at the TV begging SOMEONE, ANYONE to attack.  It's like everyone had just given up.  Maybe you'll only get a few seconds out and then caught but at least attack...

In ever other tour there is at least one stage where there is this cat and mouse game among the top 3-4 GC contenders where they try to attach each other.  Yesterday was just a slog up a mountain.

Ha! Voeckler showed up in Stage 18 with a polka dot bike.

(This isn't a stage 18 spoiler, so I'm OK with putting it in the Stage 17 "Spoliers" thread. Although, I guess if you wanted to watch Stage 18 to see if Voeckler had a polka dot bike, then I guess I've 'spolied' it for you.)
