Subject: Stolen Valdora!!

Some a**hole stole a bike right off of the Valdora Van rack after the Mountain Man Triathlon last night. (Don't know if it was in Flag or in the Valley.) Valdora is a great, local company that provides awesome customer service and a great product. It's a terrible thing to happen to any company, but it's especially upsetting since I have a relationship with these guys as I know a few of you do too. Below is a description of the bike...If you see/hear anything fishy please let them know!!

"The flat black and red. SR1.0 aerobar, SRAM RED cranks, Rival derailleurs, Valdora machined brake calipers, rear wheel is 85mm deep carbon (bike was on the rack so no front wheel!), Valdora saddle, carbon brake levers, Michelin Pro 4 race tire, red handlebar tape."

That is not cool, I'm sorry for Pete... I have a working relationship with Valdora, so I know this bike well, if I see it anywhere or at an event or craigslist, I'll get with Pete asap.

That totally stinks.  I have met the Valdorra folks and they are an upright, supportive organization.

What a terrible thing to happen to such a great group of people. Pete is awesome to work with. Hopefully every bike shop in the state will be on the look out for somebody trying to get a wheel. That's why I rack my Black Pearl INSIDE the van

UPDATE!!!

Due to the awesome community here at BT, the Valdora bike was found and returned to the owners. I was notified by a BT member that he was bidding on bikes and came across one that matched my description. I checked out the link and it was almost too obvious that the bike was stolen. The seat and handlebar angles were so off I knew that no triathlete would be caught dead riding it. There was no bar tape and the most telling sign was the fact that it had some cheep steel front wheel and a beautiful 85mm carbon Valdora rear wheel. (The bike was stolen without the front wheel)

I was contacted by Pete and he told me that the cops had retrieved the bike from a 28yr-old known thief who lived with his father. Bike was not in perfect condition, but he was stoked to get it back and hopefully get some scum off of the street for awhile.

Stoked to be part of such an awesome, honest community...Instead of getting a new bike for about $3,000+ less than the sticker price, this person alerted me that he found a suspicious bike. Just awesome...
