Post race
Event comments: Tons of volunteers, and a great course, but a few shortcomings bring this race down for me. In particular: 1) sprint swim was so shallow that you had to run the first 50 yards, and wade/run the last 50 yards as well. If you really wanted, you could have walked the whole thing. 2) The venue is small, so parking was extremely limited, forcing everyone to get there @ 4:30 AM for a 7am race. The parking lot filled by 5am or so, and then you had to park 15 min away @ Gunstock mtn. (with a shuttle). 3). The venue was so crowded and cramped it was hard to find anything. I think Post race food seemed non existant (unless you wanted to buy something from a vendor). The next day we found a food tent for the 1/2 Iron athletes... Not sure if it was set up for the Sprint or not. 4). Compared to other races this season, the swag was quite limited... Oh well. Last updated: 2012-04-16 12:00 AM
