Pre-race routine:

I woke up at 5:30am. I knew this was a small race so I offered to help with setup. I ate a McDonald's egg muffin combo with a orange juice at 6:20. I also had about half of my strawberry protein shake between 8:15 and 9:00. The race was schedules to start at 10 but was delayed.
Event warmup:

I did not do any warm-up.
Swim
  • 22m 26s
  • 800 meters
  • 02m 48s / 100 meters
Comments:

I felt comfortable at the start. I settled in pretty well, but after the first turn started to have some issues with keeping my head in the water. I was having trouble getting good rotation with wetsuit on, this was the first long swim with the wetsuit on. The course seemed long, but no one had a gps to confirm length. I also have not been able to get any swimming in over the past 10days.
What would you do differently?:

I would get some more swims in with the wetsuit on so it was not so foreign. I would swim closer to the race.
Transition 1
  • 02m 26s
Comments:

This transition was good. I had some help getting the suit off so that was easy. I am had an issue with my balance when I got to my transition area.
Bike
  • 1h 51m 51s
  • 20.4 miles
  • 10.94 mile/hr
Comments:

The bike felt good with the new drive train, although I was not able to stay in my big ring as I was trying to watch my cadence. I am normally a masher and was trying to mash less to save for the run. The ride felt like it would never end, my bike computer was not working so I could not tell how fast I was going. I have not ridden much recently so this ride felt extra hard and long.
What would you do differently?:

Insure that my bike computer is working. Maintain my training regiment and not have so much time off before a race.
Transition 2
  • 00m
Comments:

This was a good transition, not as smooth as I would like, but better.
Run
  • 35m 10s
  • 3.2 miles
  • 10m 59s  min/mile
Comments:

The run felt good, my legs were a little spent from the ride. In the first qtr mile I got my legs under me and was able to run comfortably.
What would you do differently?:

Train more and closer to the event. Run more bricks.
Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster:

The time "off" recently from tri specific training.

Event comments:

Course was not marked well but was an enjoyable race.
