Which (if any) hydration systems work on a standard road bike without aeros?  Is there one that would work without aero bars and would work with Profile T2+ when I upgrade?

Does the speedfill standard do this?

Thanks!

I use a Camelback belt. I have mixed feelings about it. Even though I still take one hand off the handlebar to grab the hose as with grabbing a water bottle, my hands don't get in the way of my legs, so I drink more often during the ride. I'm not thrilled that the belt restricts my breathing a little, but it has helped me complete some 2+ hour rides without cramps.

I also have a TACX behind the seat water bottle holder, and standard bottle cages on the frame. Having multiple bottles means having multiple beverages. I like to rinse my mouth with water after sipping a sports drink.

+1

I can't think of a race where 2 regular water bottles wouldn't be more than enough (how much can you drink between handups?)

I have the Speedfil on my road bike (no aero) and it works fine. Can't see why it wouldn't also work when you upgrade. I also have one on my tri bike. I love it.

Or having two on the frame and two behind the saddle. 4 bottles should be plenty.

Kind of funny you would say that... Saw a rider during a race this weekend that had exactly that, plus a camelback... thw bike leg was 12 miles... You should be good for entire IM with four bottles, but do you really want to add all that weight on the bike? 2 on the frame or two behind seat, but I wouldn't use both...

I carry two bottles on the frame.  If I'm going on a long ride, or if it's exceptionally hot, I'll carry another one in a jersey pocket.  I figure one bottle per hour.  If I'm going longer than that on a training ride, then I'll stop and refill at some point.
