Pre-race routine:

Ate instant oatmeal (brown sugar and cinnamon) 2hrs before the scheduled race with a glass of hot green tea. 30 minutes before the scheduled start time I had a banana and a bottle of water.

Comments:

I started a little to fast and was not able to get my iPhone started to know any of my splits. The miles were not marked on the course so it was just a run with no indicators for distance. I used this more as a speed workout than a race, I have trouble pushing myself at that pace for a training run, I enjoy the LSD. I body finally got warmed up around mile 2-2.5.

What would you do differently?:

Warm-up more and do maybe a mile or so for a warm-up at LSD pace.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

It was a little cold (35 *F) but felt comfortable once we started running. I missed having the distance indicators from my iPhone telling me my distance and pace.
