#1139- 7 mi treadmill
#1140- 6.2 mi with 1000ft at 15% incline on treadmill
#1141- 7.7 mi treadmill, started as a speedwork workout but my lower back was sore and was bothering me when I was running fast so I ran easy for the second half of the planned workout.
#1142- 4 mi progression at gym, along with 255 floors on the stairmaster!!, first day of weight training (approx 30 min upper body)
#1143- 10 mi trail
#1144-5 mi around campus of school my daughter takes an art class at (my arms were really sore!!)
#1145- 4 mi trail, wanted to run longer but was really busy, holiday shopping etc...
#1146- 4 mi progression on gym treadmill after 30 min on stairmaster, day 2 of weight training (45 min upper body)
#1147-10.5 mi, warm but windy

The weather has been amazing and I've gotten outside when I could, but with work I usually end up getting home after dark and been doing treadmill workouts.

The day after my back was sore, I decided to get back into the gym. I'm in great shape running, but without swimming, or really any other upper body working out, I've gotten pretty soft. I've had some back issues since I was younger, and the best way I deal with it is keeping a strong core.

I decided to start doing some stairmaster workouts. I have some serious climbing in my May race, and I feel that it will help.

Other than that, I have to get my long runs back in. Hoping to work back up to a 20 miler once per week for next month. Its been nice though not being so "run down" (pun intended), I've managed to really get some variety in my training with regards to speed/strength without the daily heavy legs.

Merry Christmas everyone. Glad to see you all are still streaking and doing well. I am still at it too but still not streaking. I wish I could say my training is going great for my 126.2 mile race in Louisiana in February but it would be a lie. It is going well but not great. I have been battling a couple of non running related injuries that have slowed my training but I am finally 100% healthy so we'll see what the next three weeks or so brings for training before the taper begins.

I hope every has a great holiday and New Year too. That you meet and exceed all your 2016 goals. Streak on!!!!!!!!!!

Monday - #883 - 2 miles - I worked all day long getting last minute end of the year things done for my job so I wouldn't have to worry about them on vacation. I meant to run at lunch and then at about 5PM, but finally wrapped things up at about 7:30PM. By the time I packed up to head to the gym, it was almost 8PM. It had been freezing rain/snowing here all day, and we had gotten about 2 inches of the stuff built up. Of course I paid no attention to that as I drove out to my gym to find that they had closed hours before due to the conditions. Then I tried to hit my other cheap $9 a month gym on the way home, but they closed at 8PM right as I walked in the door. I was pissed. Went home and changed into winter running stuff and went out for 2 miles in brutal winds, freezing rain, and the stuff on the ground. I was 3:00 per mile slower than my normal pace and working pretty damn hard even to accomplish that. My legs now feel as tired as the last time I went for a long run in the sand. Glad I kept the streak up through it!!!

With 2 days left of the year, I am 14 miles away from 2500. Trying to figure out how to squeeze an extra run in. I should be taking it easy right now, guess I can rest a little in January.

Happy New year Everyone. My race in Louisiana next month has been cancelled due to the all the rain and flooding going on the Mississippi River. I totally understand but am still bummed out about it. I guess I will just have to run it next year.

#1166- 7.3 mi
#1167- 4 mi
#1168- 15 mi, (7 mi road, 8 mi trail)
#1169- 6.2 mi
#1170- 8.1 mi treadmill
#1171- 18.25 mi trail, 4500 ft gain/4500 ft loss
#1172- 8 mi
#1173- 9 mi trail in the rain, it was warm!
#1174- 2 mi
#1175- 10.5 mi, it was not warm
#1176- 6.2 mi
#1177- 7.1 mi

Still managing to do weight training 3x per week, but with the run volume increasing, my overall energy is taking a hit. I feel a bit more tired day to day. Overall I feel that I'm getting stronger though, with no swimming I definitely was getting a "runner body." I want to gain overall strength, but am trying to not gain any weight. Especially since I'm up 10 pounds or so from October!!

Not sure how you guys do it up there. Coldest its gotten here in the past few years was -2 deg with a bit of wind chill on top of that, and that was more than cold enough. Nice job on hitting 2500.
