Not a doc, but usually they say if you can hop on it, that it is probably not a stress fracture. And does it get worse the longer you run on it, or is it really sore at first and sort of work itself out a bit?

I would ice and elevate after every run, rest it as much as possible between runs, and do the bare minimum for a few days. Your base huge, a few days going real easy wont hurt a thing. I am sure 5 miles is going real easy for you, but 1 to 2 miles would be easier!!

#339- 8 mi with 10 x 100 m strides

I can hop up and down, already did that test. I know I should run a few less miles but I am hard headed and suborn. I have been hitting the ice and elevation along with some ibuprofen since Monday when I decided it was tendonitis and not a stress fracture. I also had a non xray exam done by a friend who is a runner and a PA and he agrees with the tendonitis.

Day 672, 5.1 miles easy pace.

#340- 15 mi, a bit too fast, and not enough to drink...and by not enough, I mean nothing. Have to remember not to do that, run was way harder than it had to be.

Day 674, 2.1 miles with a chest cold. I can hardly breath, I think my body is revolting against me to keep me from running much so my foot can heal. I hope I feel better tomorrow, I want to try a 10-12 mile run but it may have to wait until Sunday.

The foot still hurts some but the pain is tolerable.

Day 676, 6.2 miles. I only managed a paltry 39.39 miles this week, I feel like a three toed sloth but I know I needed to slow down and get this foot better.

Hi guys/gals.

You all are awesome, I have been thinking about it and decided that I want to try this 30 in 30 challenge, and probably carry it on beyond that.  I obviously haven't read this entire thread, but it seems like those of you posting now have crazy totals, but heck we all have to start somewhere.

So if there's room for one more I'm at day #7 and feel good lol.

I am doing my first Marathon in May (Green Bay, WI).  I have a few HM and 15-18 mile runs under me, but nothing beyond that. I have my eyes set on the Marathon next year and I would really like to do a 50K (we will see how the marathon goes first Smile).

I enjoy the running, and I think running each day will really help me get even more motivated.

Welcome to the madness, always room for more. The Green Bay marathon is on my list of marathons to do being a diehard packer fan. Maybe I can squeeze it in next year.

Day 677 6.2 mile progressive run. I had to test the foot out some and get a little speed work in before the double marathons this coming weekend. I say the foot is about 90% healed.

I only managed to run 266.05 miles this month, my first month of the year under 300 miles but I had no choice. I had to get this foot on the mend. I am up to 3059.5 miles fort he year so far and will soon go over 10,000 miles since I started keeping track of them less than 4 years ago.

Thanks for the welcome!  Those are some impressive totals there.  I'm happy with my 715 miles this year so far Laughing.  I still think If I stay dedicated I ca easily hit 1000 this year.

Anyways,

Run #8 in the books. 4.75mi

I can't wait to do the GB again next year.  Running thru Lambeau Field was awesome.  Just need to try the Lambeau leap this time.

Great to have you, more people, more fun, more motivation. Thanks for joining up.

Yesterday, #344- 2 mi, unplanned recovery day.

#345- 20 mi today. Since I pushed yesterdays run to today, if I just continue the rest of the week as previously planned I could hit 90 mi this week. I guess I will see how I feel tomorrow.

Damn.....look at you guys/gals still rolling along!!  Lumber dad, seeing your totals reminded me where I would be now if I'd have not had the flat tire.  Brad,  look at you!!  I'm Sore, cool to see you closing in on a year!  Navbtcret........you're insane!!

OK.....next week I'm back at it.  The doc has cleared me to run....it will be 6 weeks post knee surgery.  I don't think I can do a daily deal yet....but I'm on my way back.  Really glad to see you folks still at it. I knew exactly where to come for some inspiration!

I'm going to go ahead and shoot for 1000 miles for the year.  I figure if I can get there in spite of the knee surgery I can call it a win.....again, in spite of the damn injury!

Good to see you back and I hope the knee continues to improve daily until you are stronger than before the surgery. Just remember to take it slow and easy at first.
