Swam a little bit to check out the water temp. Pleasantly surprised that it was not frigid.

Fiddled with my Garmin in deep water and missed the start. Drafting problems on the turn from home and I probably swam an extra half mile.

Event comments:

A very good and challenging race. One suggestion is to have mile markers on the run.

Best giveaway of the season: A pint glass. I use it a lot and it beats a tech shirt. :-)
