Hi everyone-

I'm 43 and will be competing in my first triathlon in 2 weeks (10/6 Osprey Sprint).  My 70 year old father signed up to compete and I was going training to see if I could do it as well, then dad tore his ACL....... so I'm flying solo ( I took his spot ).  I am all kinds of nervous and excited, any and all advice is welcome!

Pat

How could I improve on what Fitzy said up there?  The goal is to have fun, especially with the first race.

Welcome to the world of triathlon (or is it a vortex that has sucked us all  in and there is no escape?)

Thanks! Glad to be here.  Like I said, I'm a little anxious since this is my first tri, but I think its going to be a blast.  If this goes well, I plan on doing at least a couple sprints in 2013 and maybe an Olympic distance.....we'll see how it goes.

Thanks Ed!  I'm less than 48 hours away now and the nerves are in high gear.  I swam for the first time last night with the wetsuit and was astounded at the difference.  Now its just a matter of continuing to eat right, stretch and stay hydrated.......and hope the weather holds!  Smile
