Subject: Cannondale Synapse 5 or Cervelo R3 rival?
Thinking of pulling the trigger on one of these and was just looking for some last minute info in anyone had any?  Thanks.

These are two completely different bikes. The carbon Cervelo R3 is for expert road racing. The Cannondale Synapse is for fitness, group rides, and charity events, but not really racing.

That R3 is on sale at most places and at close range to the Synapse carbon..interesting.. I guess a test ride is in order.

Honestly, does it matter if it's on sale or not when only one of them will actually be the right bike for you? It's kind of like going to the car dealer expecting to pick up a minivan for the family and coming home with a 2-seater sports car just because it was on sale... probably not a wise choice. You have the same thing going on here, one bike is designed to be long and low (Cervelo R3) and the other Short and tall (Synapse).
