yeah, here too, Bill.  But, high of 15  for Sunday...planning to do my long run then

Feeling really blessed to have my last three runs in sunshine...even if I didn't earn any points today

On the other end, I actually have a commute home where I could get some points (all 5-7 minutes of it)

24 degrees snowing and 17 mph winds.  Supposed to be single digits tonight so if I can get out of bed for my run tomorrow morning might be able to score some points for that too (8 miles - plan calls for 64 minutes but if it is that chilly and slick it will be longer)

wgraves7582 - 2013-01-14 7:31 PM Lenny - maybe you and I should team up and try and catch Darren!!!!

I think that is the only way anyone is going to catch him. I am just trying to hold on to 3rd.

well for what it is worth except for my bike ride tomorrow morning, I don't think I will be getting any points until at least Saturday. we have the strangest weather imaginable up here. -10C one day, +5 the next.

Ummm you have a 12,000 point lead - I don't think 1 week is going to hurt you .  Now if it goes 40+F for the rest of the winter then we have a shot!

Here I thought someone blocked Darren from recording in January just to give people a chance to catch up.

Again, no points....42 degrees, but since I am in the 4 runs per week challenge, I got out there. I know myself...so plan B worked

Found the perfect use for a winter storm, points, points, points. The only down side was the cold and snow slowed me down, which was a good thing because it too longer to get my distance in, equaling even more points.

no points for my run yesterday...too warm.

Today, however, was a different story.  7 degrees and 11 mph winds with light snow.

Looks to be below zero most of the week. Supposed to do 8 miles tomorrow morning, will probably drop Brewer off early, don't want to make him run that far in the cold.

Too cold for me. Tried to run yesterday with 17 below windchill in zero degrees... could not cover my face well enough from the wind - fogged up glasses or had my nose stinging from wind. Lasted 1/2 mile.

Today - was 7 below real temp when I woke up and wind chills around 25 below. News said exposed skin would likely suffer from frost bite within 20 mins. So I opted to do core/weights in the basement and save my son years of embarrassment of introducing his mom - the noseless frost bitten mamma! LOL

Tomorrow will be cold, but to the point that (assuming the forecast is right) I won't be outside - they are calling for -22 (-7 in fehrenheit) with a windhill of -40 (um... -40 in fehrenheit). Lots of potential points, but the inevitable frostbite wouldn't be worth it!

Nothing like a couple of below 0 days to make up some lost ground fast. This cold is suppose to stick around for the rest of the week with the weekend only gettinginto the 20's.

I can run outside in below zero, but this morning had to take it inside after 25 minutes. Freezing rain over night and everything was a sheet of ice.

dang that wind is a tricky thing.  The colder it gets the more a little breeze just seems to super freeze me.  Hard north wind coming into my face on my run in today.  Took me 20 minutes longer than Friday, darn near 3 hours.  Actually wasn't really a hard wind, but sure made that -14 feel a bunch colder.

Guess safety won out Lenny - wise choice - guess that means we have cold coming our way again - supposed to be 50 today and tomorrow but rainy!

Planning on commuting Friday morning to get some good points in to try and stay up with Lenny and Charles!!!

That is a good call.  I know I did a long run last year on icy streets.  Stupid.  I fell twice.  Just dumb.

That said, I have heard a good way to work on your form is to run on icy.......good but probably dumb.

All this talk of ice and falling - stay safe people.

Speaking of falling, I fell but not outside running. I was carrying a large box out to the garage to the recycling and fell down 2 stairs. Long story short, I fractured my 5th metatarsal in my right foot and am now in a boot with no running for 4-6 weeks. WAAAAAAH! so looked forward to running in the snow some more! So I likely won't get any more points this season and will go absolutely stir crazy not being able to run/cycle/kettlebell and swim at least for a while (shorter on the low impact stuff I guess). Bring on the bon bons! LOL

Have fun but be safe my amigos!
