HI Guys,

i did my first triathlon this past summer and loved it.  i am currently training for the ironman 70.3 in syracuse thats next june.  i only started running and getting into shape in 2011, i started at 335 lbs and am now down to 283.  my longest run is 7 miles so far.  i have found that training just to lose weight doesn't keep me focused but by having a race to train for i train harder and stay focused.  anyway i just wanted to introduce myself and say this site is great and i hope to get to know alot of you.

Awesome...over 50 lbs so far.  That's what we say around hear, if you just signup for a race, that really lights a fire under you.  Great for motivation.

Welcome!

Keep up the training and you will be great.  Awesome job on the weight loss!!!  My local tri club has some similar stories (I'm one of them).  The amount of weight lost due to this sport is somewhere above 1,000 pounds.  It's incredible focus.

Good luck on the Half.  My first one was last year and it was humbling to say the least.  Keep on training!
