The BT group swim wednesday morning was great. There were six of us and we pretty much did one loop of the swim course together.
Saw two baby sting rays, a few jelly fish and huge schools of tiny fish that flashed in the sun when they turned.

The bouy anchors are out. Tiny white buoys about the size of your head. We found a bunch of them.

I will be one of those people trying to sign up this weekend, online, for the race in 2014. Does anyone have any tips to better my chances of actually getting a spot? It sounds like it sells out in no time. Unfortunately I couldn't make it down there to volunteer, but hopefully will be able to get registered online.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
TK

Hoping to see a lot of y'all out there!

My special lady-friend and I are flying down Friday morning and will be volunteering in bike transition (I think T-1, but maybe T-2 also, and maybe finish line also also...)

Good luck to everyone this weekend!!!!!

Have your credit card info ready and ONLY fill out the required info. Don't waste precious time filling out optional fields... I used this suggestion and was lucky enough to signup online for IMAZ this year. It sold out in 45 seconds

Sorry I missed everybody at the swim this morning. I don't know why but I wasn't expecting to see as many people on the beach as I did. Just hopped in for a short solo (if you can call it that) swim. Hope everybody enjoyed themselves the water is beautiful!

12:00 Lizas Kitchen, 7008 Thomas Drive, PCB-very casual come when you can, lots of seating and often folks come and go

I'm going to the 11:00 athletes meeting. Then lunch. Kathy said it's a real informal place and it's no problem if we're a little late.
Everyone is welcome.

Water was a little bouncy this morning.

Whew that water was rough today! I really hope it calms down on Saturday or I may have to adjust my estimated swim time. I came to meet up with the group but couldn't figure out where y'all were. If the weather isn't terrible tomorrow, I'll head out to practice again. Any more detailed directions on how to meet the group? Or would someone that plans to swim tomorrow want to PM me with their number so I can contact you if I can't find you again?

Same thing happened to me, I wasn't about to walk around to all the groups asking if it was the BT group.
I think I'm going with the sleeveless, I felt like I was over heating in the full sleeve, anyone else feel the current going out? It felt like it was much harder swimming back in.

Tomorrows swim meet near the showers nearest the tent where you registered on the porch on water side of Boardwalk Beach hotel. A couple folks have BT shirts that could be yellow, orange or royal blue.

I will wear my blue BT shirt and a pink IM hat tomorrow.  My cell is 813-928-7091 I think 1/2 of BT has my number anyway

Me in the blue shirt and pink hat a few years ago here

Sorry I missed you all. I swam at the condo today. I'm staying about 2 miles from the start. Water was rough but warm. I did not need the wetsuit today.

The group from Richmond,Va (about 20 of us) will be having another swim practice at the race site 8am Friday. The more the merrier.
Fwiw, NOAA forecasts show it to be even rougher than today.

Decided to skip the swim this morning as I didn't sleep well and swimming in the weather we were having this morning would do nothing but mess with my head.  It was good to see everyone that made it to the swim yesterday, hopefully we will run into each other again over the next day and on the course tomorrow!

Good luck to all racers this weekend, it is going to be a blast!!
