Swim
Comments: Got a really bad start maybe due to the lack of a swim warm-up. After the first turn buoy though I got into a really good rhythm. There was a slight current helping as we were swimming downstream with the run-out tide which helped with the speed. Tried to stay in the deeper parts of the channel to take as much advantage of the tide as possible even though that meant swimming slightly further than I had to at times. Felt really strong, got out of the water feeling fine and really happy with the time. What would you do differently?: Make sure to get a swim warm-up done so I can get a better start. Transition 1
Comments: T1 time included in Bike split. No troubles finding my bike and, although it wasn't timed, it was a quick transition. Wasted a little bit of time when I dropped one of my gels but that was it. What would you do differently?: Don't drop a gel or have them taped to the bike before hand. Bike
Comments: Felt really strong (for me at least) on the bike early on. Held a good cadence and tried to push the pace. The tough headwind really started to take it's toll on the last couple of outbound laps but I finished still feeling reasonably comfortable. Probably didn't quite drink enough in the hot conditions either. Had two gels on the bike which seemed to be enough. Bike leg time includes both T1 and T2 timings as well so I was pretty happy with the time and pace due to that. What would you do differently?: Drink a little more with respect to the conditions. Transition 2
Comments: T2 time included in Bike split. No real problems during transition. Run
Comments: With the late wave start, we didn't get onto the run course until about 11:00am so it was very hot by then. I felt okay initially on the run and managed to run the first lap in around 22:30min but after that the heat really started to take it's toll. Got into a bit of a challenge with another guy in my AG which made the second lap interesting but it was a bit of a struggle. My GPS had the course as 10.3km and even the pros didn't run really quickly on this course with the best only posting around 36:00min which made me feel slightly better. Ran the whole way and finished feeling okay but just couldn't maintain the pace like I wanted. What would you do differently?: Maybe drink more on the bike might have enabled me to maintain my pace throughout the run. Post race

Rode my bike from the resort we were staying at to transition.
Had a sleep under a tree while I waited for my late wave start.
Walked the 2km or so to the swim start.
