GEORGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Welcome back, Stranger!!!

Hey folks!  Been stalking for a couple of weeks and just couldn't pass on this post!  Who wants to give me a summary of the last 80 pages?

And only 80 pages?!?!  What is up with that.  There better be some serious training going on here.

Trying to keep up with life here so not too much to talk about from a training perspective but April was at least a month that I was more active!

Hoping to stick around (if you'll have me back!).  Hope everyone is well.

Hi George, good to hear your back, I check your logs now and then but not much has been happening! You were a bit of a MG veteran when I joined the group, hope life lets you get back into it.

Big news for me is I managed to train more than Suzy for a month, bad news is I'm in peak training for an IM and Suzy is relaxing in her off-season...!

The first weekend in May is upon us.  Who's racing!  Tell us your goals and your plan.

I've seen many people mention that "life" has been getting in the way of their training (myself included).  What do you do when it happens?  How do you get your mojo back?  How do you find your groove again?

As you all know I am doing my first Tri this weekend. My goal is to survive and finish in under 4 as long as I dont drown on the swim I think I can manage to finsish.

The life thing is for me is balance try and manage my time tog get everything in. My wife is pretty understanding so that helps. It just doesnt seem like there is enough time in a day to accomplish everythingg I am taking 2 hours off to get in my last bike run brick before the Tri.

Gl david hope you rock! I will try and track you after my race

Good luck to everyone else racing this weekend.

This is a great question for me -- I've been battling with my mojo lately. When the weather turns nice, most people think of endless training. I just think of summer with the kids and squeezing in what I can. For now, I'm just mentally not beating myself up over things. I am keeping life in perspective and constantly struggling to find/maintain balance.

I did turn to RP for some inspiration, and he gave me six running workouts... Told me to roll a die and do whatever workout came up. In between those workouts, run easy. There are a few other rules to the "game," but this is my first week trying it and I was thrilled with today's roll and had a great workout. There is one number on that die I don't really want to roll, but I also think when I do, I'll embrace it. This is just enough to mix things up and keep my head and body in the game while I figure out what I'm going to do next, if anything.

But most importantly, right now I'm enjoying my kids so much that I don't really care about racing and stuff. I'm feeling pretty zen about it all, and that's a good place to be.

Hi, all!

Did my 'Wednesday Women' ride today - turned into 56 miles with a nasty flat tire and a bakery stop. Gotta love these girls. Doing a 'Splash & Dash' tomorrow night - 1500m swim (in a lake, with a wetsuit) and a 5k run.  We'll see if I remember how to swim!  And it was 90 here today - so the heat isn't helping.

No racing this weekend......but my baby is going to the jr. prom, so it's more stressful.  Wink

Tracking details for David compliments of Trevor!

So 7am (when the swim starts I assume)on May5th Australia time would be:

 5pm EST/ 3pm MST on Sat May 4th.

You are so welcome.

No racing for me anytime soon, but I will live vicariously through our speed demons!!!

Linda, I've seen your logs and you're swimming like I wish I could!!!! Take that 5K and crush it!

Trev, every time you want to quit think of your idol and push it.  I know Lieto wouldn't give up due to a little suffering!

David,  you've trained hard, overcome injury issues and proven you can swim with the best of them.  Enjoy your IM experience, there is nothing better than crossing the line that first time!!!

Mike, the duathlon is done, now it's time to really focus on making your Oly the very best experience.  I am sure that 4 hour goal will be met with a little of determination and skill!!

Let the weekend begin!

Trevor - what's your number?  Are you racing Saturday or Sunday?

...And did you notice that the Canucks, while playing very dirty, lost badly on home ice to the SHARKS?  Vancouver may not be a happy place this weekend.  Run fast, get home safely.  No hockey anymore in Calgary, right?!?!  Wink

Right you are Kim.  Must be a combination of jet lag and the fact that today is a national holiday in Japan.  For some reason I convinced myself it was Sunday.  Wow! I think I'll go back to bed now.

Good Morning all,

On the eve of my first Triathlon the forecast doesnt look good, 54 degrees and 90% chaince of rain. I would like some advice on what to do in not so ideal conditions. How to prevent transition items from being soaked, should i add clothes after the swim(was planning on wearing tri shorts and shirt think I may need more than that). Any other advice on racing in not ideal conditions could be helpful as well.
