Last Friday, to celebrate hitting the Big Five-Oh, I did my own personal challenge tri -- 2.4 mi swim, 81 mi bike, 10 mi run. The idea was a sprint tri for each decade, with some of the miles taken off the run and put on the bike. I finished in 8:45, with some very relaxed transitions (22 and 21 minutes each), and a food stop half-way through the bike.

Just before hitting the water.

The start...

Heading out on the bike.

And on my way out for the run.

I'm still recovering...

Holy crap--I'm gone for the morning and this thread explodes with action.

Steve--GREAT pic of you!  Love it :)

Vbellino--Are you guys all related, or what! LOL.  Very cool that you all did that together.

Brian--This is a greatp ic of you too.  I think I "met" you the day before Boston on BT.  I watched Boston that day and thought about you running and the chaos.  Glad you finished when you did, man.

Dave--Because everyone whould do this when they have a five week old?  Because regular newborn fatigue isn't brutal enough?  You nut!  Freakin' awesome!  Happy birthday :)

LOL. Yeah - if we weren't all in the same pic you could claim that we actually share the same nose.

Two of my other kids ran it as well. I think they considered opening a family division for us.

He is definitely crazy!! I've pushed him out the door a few times because I know that he needs to exercise or his lack of sleep will be compounded!

Congrats brother!  You look more energetic and upbeat finishing a 140.6 than half the people getting through their order at McDonalds.  Cool

I don't find too many pictures of myself that I like.    Forgot I had this one and figured I better post before the year expires!

Me at Uluru back in February.

Mans best friend. This dog was big as me. Met him before the swim, he was very friendly. Paws bigger than my hands. I am 6 foot almost 200lbs. Great animal

These were taken during the vacation I just got back from: a fully-supported ride through the Florida Keys. The sarong was my make-do after forgetting an appropriate shirt for "Hawaiian Day". After looking at the picture I remembered that I look better with a shirt on; maybe I need to hit the weights more often.
