21 days done - 31 min so far.  I could feel the difference on my long run this weekend.  My abs seemed engaged and I swear my form has gotten better.  Can't wait to put the strengthend core on the bike.

Although 25 days late...I think I'm gonna take the challange!

Guess I have a lot of catchin' up to do. Do one handed planks count as double?

If you can do one handed planks, go ahead and count them as double :-).

Hm, I'm almost tempted to tell him that they count as half. ;-)  just kidding.

Late in finding this challenge. Think I'll join if it's not too late. I always looked for reasons not to do the plank, as I usually do them after push ups, so end up skipping too many of them.

This challenge is perfect to force me to give up excuses :-)

Whew, Jennifer and Mike are major over-achievers!  I went up to a 2 min plank one day and I decided that isn't for me.   Maybe later.  But I've still got a plank every day and I'm at 43 plank min and 1200 crunches for the year.  Now where are those bleeping abs?

Regretted joining this challenge on the second day Smile

The 90 seconds yesterday was not bad, but worked 12 hours today, followed that with 2 hours of Badminton and then 1 1/2 hours of shoveling. By the time I got back in the house, the last thing on my mind was a plank.

With my wife's encouragement, went through a very long 90 seconds. Will increase to 100 seconds tomorrow.

Nicely done! I was just settling in to bed at a hotel on a business trip yesterday when I remembered I hadn't done my plank. Got up and got it done myself.

All of you are doing so good.  You all seem to be adding seconds every day.  WTG!  Question: when you a a front plank, do you do it on your elbow or your hands?  Hubby says that it's harder to do on your hands but for me, it's harder on my elbows.  I guess I'm just interested in others opinion to see if I'm doing something wrong (or right) in some in the positions.

I do it on my elbows. Haven't tried it on my hands, that seems more like the top of a pushup than part of a plank, but I'm a plank newb to be honest.

I'm late to the party but not late to the daily January plank!  I'm up to 4:15 on my hands and on my forearms.  I'm making sure I can do both.  I'm aiming for 5 minutes sometime in early February.  After that, I'll do some plank variations like side plank and reverse plank.  Woo hoo!!!! Kiss

Plank on hands is more difficult than plank on forearms because of the shoulders.  It is easier to fall out of the proper form when you are on your hands.

Wow! 4:15 is impressive! My goal is a plank a day for 2013 so it looks like I need to add in hand planks :-).
