Long time BT'er Alltom1 will be at the start line for Bone Island Ironman on Jan. 12th.   We need to send him off with some encouragement.   He has spent most of his training time this fall solo which is hard stuff getting ready for an IM.  For those that do not know him, he is a vet of many IMs and a very positive influence on the boards.

Let's rally up and send him off in style.

Hear Hear!

Alltom1 is going to rock this race! I expect a strong race from this guy!

CSharp is also going to be racing Bone Island. He's been tearing it up in training, too.

Good luck, folks!

Frankly, Alltom1 was one of my biggest and best influences in the sport and he's strong as an ox, both mentally and physically. I count him as one of the best mentors any of us could have and wish him only the best. His logs were a bit stealthy this winter but he don't play to lose so bank on him having a great day.

Troy the Shark is another bigballer! He's been training like mad in Augusta and is another quality person and triathlete. I expect a mega PR for him on the way to IMCanada too.

Go get you some, bros!

Also, a holla to our brethren doing the Goofy Challenge in Disney this weekend. 39.3 ain't no joke.

I can't wait to hear his review of the race.  Interesting location....

These things never stop being new..no matter how many you get done.

I want to thank you guys for those incredibly kind words. I'm gonna think of this thread when I'm digging deep. .

And good luck to anyone doing Goofy - that's no small undertaking.

Good luck and best wishes from a noob!  Although I will say, I am so jealous of you doing a race in Key West in January.  This was on my "wish list" before I had my race season interupted by a herniated cervical disc.  I would love to read your race report - I have to think this would be an awesome place for a half or full.  The swim in particular seems like it would be pretty cool - Ocean swim in fairly clear water!  (My home is in Savannah GA - 0 ft viz!).

I don't see any checkpoint data for Chris (alltom1) or Troy (csharp) at this time. The athlete tracker doesn't look to be working...anyone else have luck?

OK, the athlete tracker is working now.

Alltom1 came out of the swim and then BLEW through T1!

1:07 T1!

Man's on a mission!

Troy had a good swim and also blew through T1!

Great job, folks!

Chris knocked off the swim in 1:22 and his T1 was 1 minute!   That is smokin fast for an IM

Chris finished the bike in 6:13:12. Total time is 7:40:23 at run start.

Troy threw down an almost identical time, 6:11:30, and is at 7:34:49 starting the run!

If they started the swim together in one mass start, then they're only a few mins apart on the run. Maybe they see each other on the run course and lift each other up!

Get it done, guys!

I don't see anything for Chris or Troy yet, but they should be finishing soon.

I took a DNF.

It's a long story but final decision was based on not being able to run anymore re. foot problems. Day had plenty of lessons to go round and I'll share once my head is a little clearer.

Thanks again for the support! Dan/Marvarnett was racing the half - anyone catch his results?

You win some, you lose some. Tough day out there, from what I have heard. Sorry about the feetses. Rest up, lick your wound, and play another day.

It was a tough day for me and I nearly called it a day early due to some GI issues and dizziness on the run. I'm still not certain what happened since I came off the bike feeling great. After I started the run my HR was high and I was hot as hell and even walking did nothing to get my HR down. I was able to hold it together enough to finish but I'm really disappointed with my time.

I've become a professional at doing hot Ironmans.  It never ends well.
