Subject: will this power meter fit a cervelo p2
I have an opportunity to buy a SRAM S975 Quarq CinQo 53/39T GXP 172.5 130BCD  power meter and but I dont know if it will fit my cervelo p2. Can anyone advise me. I was told I might have to change the bottom bracket but not sure what that means. I dont know anything about power meters but want to start training with one.

I'm almost positive that the P2 has a GXP bottom bracket (as opposed to BB30), so the new cranks should fit fine. If you aren't familiar with swapping cranksets (or don't have the proper tools), you would probably want a LBS to put the Quarq on for you.

That's the setup I have on my P2. Very happy that I made the move to a PM.

Even if your bike was BB30 (or some other non-GXP BB standard) you'd still be able to get the Quarq to fit with an adapter.  You'd have an issue if it were the other way around.  You can't make BB30 fit into a GXP bike because the diameter of the spindle is larger than the BB "hole."

That's what I had on my P2. They did have to change the BB

The only thing you may want to consider is going to a compact 50/34 (I think). If you are heavier and/or do a lot of hills this may be something to consider before spending close to 2k.
