My laptop just scrapped out and I am shopping around for a new computer. was previous using a Toshiba laprop with Vista/ Microsoft. Thinking of an  iMac, but I noticed my Garmin 305 softwaresoftware says not MAC compatible.

do any Garmin software work with Mac systems? is there any way to use my 305 again? I have to get a new computer but would still like to use Garmins equimoment.  seems if I get a Mac system I won' t have full use of my 305?

Thoughts or suggestions much appreciated! need help.

I had a 305 and now have a 910xt. I've used both with my MacBook Pro laptop. I sync with connect.garmin.com. I've heard of other programs to sync with but this is fine for me. I'm not pouring over tons of data but this gives me what I need for now.

My 405 works with both my iMac and MacBook Air. Just need the Garmin Communicator and the Garmin ANT agent.

Here you go!

http://www8.garmin.com/support/download_details.jsp?id=3739

I never install software that comes on CD with ANY product... always download the newest version from the manufacture's website.

Just go to that site and download the two pieces. They will download as a .dmg. Once they are downloaded double click that file and then there will be an installer just like on windows.

I have a Garmin 310xt and it works just fine with my MacBook. I had one issue when I upgraded my Garmin software, but I emailed Garmin tech support and had everything working the next day.

I bought a MacBook Pro at Christmas last year. 13 days before the warranty went out my computer died. They changed out the logic board for free, but had I been past the warranty date and not had an expensive extended warranty, I'd been (*&^ out of luck.

Next time I'm going PC.

That's a quite unusual experience... usually it's exactly the opposite. You will pay more for a Mac, but they tend to work longer and more importantly, stay current longer. You can easily use a 6-10 year old Mac and not really give up that much performance, whereas with a PC.... well, last years model feels slow....

Or... buy the extended warranty. It will cover you for an extra 2 years. You can purchase them on ebay for around $100 depending on which version you need.
