Pre-race routine:

I checked in, then race to McDonald and had a fruit and yogurt parfait. Drank a gatoraid G2

Comments:

I ran well for very icy conditions. I fell on the first turn. The deer trail was difficult heavily wooded. I ran a lot of it bent over. I nearly fell at the creek crossing. I gave a GU at the last aid station to the guy who edged me out for age group 3rd.

What would you do differently?:

I wouldn't give that guy a GU (HA HA). I would be more careful on the turns.

A fun winter run. More challenging than a half marathon. A unique theme.

Course:	First 3 miles on a road mile asphalt and dirt. Very icy. Then 1.5 mile on a deer trail, heavily wooded and difficult to find markers. The rest was a mix of fire trails, with one short stretch at the half way on asphalt which included a long ascent. The last 2 miles were asphalt, very icy. 1 creek crossing, 100 foot descent cross the creek on 2 wood planks 100 feet straight up 60 degree ascent. Very hilly course
