Ok, here we go.  We talked about it but here is a place for us all to share our misery.  Today is technically the start of the Tour, since it is a global tour and goes by the international date line in regards to days and time.

Official Trainer Road Tour Of Sufferlandria Page

Although it starts today, I won't be doing my first ride until the 26th, which seems like how they planned it for us folks in the US.  Did a light 45 minute ride last night to keep things loose and I'll be taking tonight off to be fully rested for Hell Hath No Fury, which IMO is one of the harder rides, although I haven't done any of the back to back ones like they have planned.

For those interested, you can post your TR user name, kind of keep track of each other.  Mine is Jdeangelis.

Good luck to all!

Nice.

I'm set to begin tomorrow morning.

I had intended to give myself a very easy spin this morning, but I took on the mother of all calf cramps as I sprung from the pool last night after my workout. It's still there this morning, so I'm opting for a full rest day. I think I can get it massaged out by the start of the tour tomorrow.

So it's rest for me today. Looking forward to the suffer!

Edit to add my TR user name. It's the same: BernardDogs

You can still do the workouts without the videos. I don't know if that changes things for you or not. I only have two of the videos and won't be purchasing any additional.

I'll be doing this next year as well. Right now it would screw up my HIM training.

May the minions be kind....but don't count on it.

I am signed up to do it but reality states I am insane to think I can do it.  We shall see, I'll give it an honest try but it just might be too much of a time suck with marathon training.

My username on trainer road is dprocket.

I have a medical procedure scheduled for 2/1 that will keep me off the bike for the last two days, so I did the last two workouts (There is no try+Revolver and Local Hero) yesterday and today.  So I'm 2 days into it and will be with everyone else going forward (until I have to stop, of course).

Anyway, so far it's been loads of fun!

I'm signed up, but just had knee surgery last Friday, so I'm not entirely optimistic that I'll be able to do it.  I think I'll give it a shot tomorrow and see how it goes.  If it's clear it's not going to happen, I may postpone a week or so and give it a shot then.  Sounds like miserable fun...

Hey all...

Username : 01gbanks

Unfortunately since i work away from home monday to thursday ill only be able to log my workouts on TR on the days im home, but will be keeping up with the other sessions in the hotels gym...

Must say i am kinda looking forward to seeing how much this absolutely destroys me, i have only done maybe half the videos so the other half might have me literally on a pile on the floor!

Good luck to everyone!!

Stage one complete. Did it at 90% and it was still brutal thanks to 20 outdoor miles and some swimming earlier in the day.

just finished the first stage. Top tip, a bottle of wine is not proper pre tour hydration.

I completed HHNF late last night after a run and swim. My legs were toast. My TR name is the same as my screen name. Good luck Sufferlandrians!

Stage 1 completed at 100%. Target power was 200 and I hit 197. Set 5 PRs at the 10, 15, 20, 30, and 60 minute levels.

Watched a documentary of Sacco and Vanzetti. I think they would have been proud of my effort.

First stage done.  Haven't really been biking so I started at 90%.  Went ok.  As a bonus it is a rainy day here, good day for a trainer ride

15 minutes from finishing, my garmin speed sensor took its final dump....the cadence was still working fine, but the arm musta been loose, hit a spoke, snapped down, and no more speed readings. Battery replacement = no love. Had to bounce over the LBS and pay full retail for a new one. Now I HAVE to finish them all, this sucks.

Same TR name.

Did HHNF last night. I was able to complete it at 100%. I was pretty nervous when I developed a calf cramp at the end of the first 20' interval, but still finished without dogging it. Did The Wretched and a swim and bike on Thursday that may account for the cramping. I'm working in the hospital all weekend, so I actually had to bring my setup to work with me. Doing the ride late in the day made it very difficult to fall asleep, and I had a crappy night's rest. Trying to hydrate better today, and will hit it again this afternoon.

I worked the first day into my training but I won't be able to complete all of them as it's not part of my IM training.

Finished with 100% with 1053 kj and 255 np.

I had a 3.5 hour session so I did Ickes, HHNF, then Mono to wrap up the day.
