Comments: At the 8k mark, I was passed by a runner that was stalking me for a bit and when I asked him what our pace was (I don't have a watch) he replied "4:30 per kilometer." That didn't help me much since I think in miles. LOL What would you do differently?: Not drink so damn much alcohol 2 days before my race. I was very, very hung over on Saturday, slept on the train on the way up. I did go to bed early Saturday night and I ate well all day Saturday. Post race
Warm down: I had to walk 1.5 miles in the rain back to the B&B I was staying at. Fortunately, they let me check out an hour after check out time, so I was able to take a hot shower. What limited your ability to perform faster: Drinking with my Brother Friday night and not knowing what my per kilometer goal pace was. I should have done the match before hand. Event comments: I would consider doing this race again because of the time of year, only next time I will make a 3 day weekend out of it and throw in a day or 2 of skiing while in Vancouver BC. Standing around in a tent that had a heater...doing a few stretches, and eating 1/2 a powerbar about 30 mins prior to the gun going off.
They did a 5 mins dance routine. It was entertaining to watch, but I stayed in the tent.
