No real warm up this year. Just some stretching indoors.
Run
  • 3h 54m 51s
  • 26.2 miles
  • 08m 58s  min/mile
Comments:

Cold and wet this year. Rained the hardest while we were standing around in the start corrals pre-race. Great way to start a marathon - cold and wet. Other than that, I accomplished my goals. I just wanted to run sub 4 hours so that I wouldn't have to go in the lottery next year.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing
Post race
Warm down:

Got cleaned up, layered on clean, dry clothes, and went out to watch others finish.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

My inability to run faster

Event comments:

I'll continue to do this race as long as I am able. I like the course, and the run.

Good job.  That weather was NASTY.  I was really glad to be in my living room watching y'all on TV.

Thanks.  I was about 1/2 mile into the race when I came the closest to bagging it.  When we crossed the first bridge over I-10, it was truly miserable.  Luckily it improved to only mild misery after that.

Felt good to finish and get in dry clothes.

Standing around in the rain doesn't sound fun. I'm glad it didn't ruin your race.

Thanks.  I was shocked that I didn't end up with blisters after running in wet socks/shoes.  Hopefully the next one in New Orleans is dry.
