I'm still on the fence this year.  I'm registered for Naperville, and I'm thinking about doing Fox Valley.  I loved this race last year and I would definitely join the American Cancer Society team again if I did it.

Anyone want to predict how long this will take to sell out?  I'm going to say 24 hours.

2009: ~80 days

2010: ~50 days

2011: 31 days

2012: 6 days

Crazy! Can't be too long before it becomes an NYC-style lottery. In 2004, I signed up in early August.

It was my first too... I wouldn't trade the experience for the world.  I'd suggest getting into one of the many local training groups.  I used CARA and loved the camaraderie.

It was my first ever race also.

I signed up the last 9 years.  I am going twin cities week before I still driving me a bit crazy because I am not planning on signing up this year, but I really want too.  Force of habit I guess.

Just signed up!!! (I work for a major sponsor - early sign-up is a "perk", I suppose)

Chicago was my first marathon, back in 2004.

October 13 seems sooooo faaaar awaaaaay, and there's a lot of training and racing between now and then, but I do so love this race.

The goal this year is to PR in it. Which shouldn't be a problem considering I did it in the hottest two years in history.

I love all the encouragement! We will need to keep this going as a pseudo training group

Good luck to everyone attempting to register today!

I'm definitely going to do the CARA thing.

They are running a $25 off special, too.  Like them on FB for the details.

I'm not doing Chicago but I'm still going to run with them for Fox Valley and Naperville.
