yep,
Subject: Quarq question - Compatability with Shimano

Curious if I can pair a Quarq (new or old) with a bike that has Shimano Ultegra/105 mix set up throughout.  I have a Ultegra press fit crank with Ultegra rear derail/cassette and front derail

Can I go new Quarq with a press fit crank?  Or do i need to switch to a different bottom bracket.

Thanks guys!

What kind of bike do you have and what size BB does the bike have? Quarqs come in GXP or BB30.

any crank (including the quark) will work with pretty much any drivetrain. So yes to that.

I think the giants are BB86, so you need a Quark crank that fits a bb86/bb90 so basically NOT a BB30 and you should be fine I'm pretty sure.

Your current crankset doesn't matter. The Quarq system will be a new crankset. You are aware of that, right?

Yes I am but I want it to be able to work with my bottom bracket.

I went through my LBS and they got me the right Quarq and installed it. Both of my bikes are all Ultegra components and there was no problem with compatibility. But, I didn't do any of the work myself beyond saying "Hey Jay, I want to order a Quarq compact for my Madone" and handing over my credit card.

True.  I'll ask the guys at the shop.

Thanks!
